"F*** Mainstream" is an expository documentary that explores the underground music scene in Singapore, challenging misconceptions while celebrating its raw creativity and cultural significance. It explores themes like artistic freedom versus commercial appeal, the resilience of DIY shows, and the rich diversity of local artists, we uncover the untold stories that define this vibrant community. By examining the struggle to stay authentic while navigating the challenges of mainstream success, we highlight the unique mindsets and experiences of underground artists. Ultimately, the documentary seeks to bridge the gap between underground and mainstream music, fostering deeper understanding, appreciation, and unity within Singapore’s cultural landscape.

I honestly had such a great time shooting this whole documentary, and as difficult and tiring as it was, I don't regret it one bit. It was amazing talking to all these talented and passionate people and finding out more about the underground scene, and it definitely did change my perception on it.
