A short film about emotional labour

Behind The Mask

During July 2024, SIT DCIM students were invited to partake in 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲@𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 at PLQ Plaza, an awesome event jointly organized by the National Library Board (NLB) and Workforce Singapore (WSG) for SkillsFuture SG Festival 2024. At this event, the booth featured four educational topics on 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸, along with a unique workplace well-being intervention toolkit, the "𝘌𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦," developed by the UX Design agency, Chemistry team, and our professor, Angela.

The educational topics were brought to life through short-form videos produced by first-year students from the Digital Communications and Integrated Media (DCIM) programme at Singapore Institute of Technology. These videos conveyed educational messages on emotional well-being at work, including: ·   𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙀𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙧? - Many of us may not realise we are emotional labours, masking our emotions to perform our jobs. Long-term suppression of emotions without proper regulation can impact our well-being. DCIM first year students - Sherlyn Tan, Celine Chan, Chloe Lim, Pang Jian An and Ho Sheng Rui produced the short film, “Behing The Mask” for educating the public on this message."
